A new look for the Practice Centre
01 April 2017
The Practice Centre had a makeover to be ready for Oranga Tamariki.
The CYF Practice Centre has always been a great resource since it went live in 2009.
In the last couple of years the site started showing its age - it didn't display well on mobile devices and over time some of the pages had grown quite long, which made it harder to find information as quickly as you sometimes need to.
Moving toward Oranga Tamariki has given us the chance to do something about these challenges.
We gathered your feedback - you probably remember taking part in a survey we ran at the end of last year - to make sure we'll be delivering a site that meets your needs.
Due to very short timeframes we haven't been able to put all of your wishes into action, but we've improved some areas that were your biggests pain points:
- The improved search function allows you to narrow down your search, for example by section of the CYPF Act, tamariki age or document type.
- You can now search across the Practice Centre, Te Pae, Doogle and the CYRAS handbook from one location.
- You no longer need a magnifying glass to find the search box: it's easy to see on every page.
And if you ever miss the old site and want to have a look at it, there's an archived version of the CYF Practice Centre held at the National Library.
We hope you like the new Practice Centre. We'd love to hear your thoughts - make sure you use the feedback button that at the bottom of every page to share your opinion.
